Why We All Need A Little More Vitamin C

June 20, 2016

Vitamin C is a powerhouse antioxidant. Whether facing cold and flu season, unsteady joint movement, or hoping to better support your digestion and eyes, Vitamin C helps support the body in more ways than one. An essential human nutrient, Vitamin C helps the body stay strong in the face of harmful free radicals, infections, pollutants and toxins, acts as an inhibitor of histamine, and can support the effectiveness of other antioxidants including Vitamin E.

  • Vitamin C aids with structural integrity in the body. It is required for the synthesis of collagen, the material that gives structure to bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscles. It also supports the normal health of gums and teeth.
  • Provides an immune boost like none other.*
  • Vitamin C helps support the metabolism of bile acid, important for digestion and the maintenance of normal cholesterol levels in the body.
  • Aids absorption of iron and other antioxidants, including Vitamin E.
  • Plays a role in the normal synthesis of hormones and neurotransmitters.
  • Critical nutrient for eye health and vision.

The Bones & The Brain: BORON

June 6, 2016

Atom_HR_17728704Boron is a little-known nutrient that can have a big impact on your health. It occurs naturally in the earth and is considered a trace mineral essential for human wellbeing.

Where is it? Boron is naturally found in human bone, tissue, and organs and therefore research has shown promise in the use of boron for supporting bones and joints. Why? Boron improves the body’s ability to absorb calcium, magnesium, and copper, which all facilitate integration into cartilage.* It plays a very important role in minimizing dangerous conditions like arthritis and osteoporosis.

What about the brain? Boron supports neurologic and neuromuscular systems, such as brain function, hand-eye coordination, short-term memory, and concentration.

prod_boron_8022__03581.1429892051.386.513There’s more? Boron also plays a supporting role in helping maintain proper levels of Vitamin D and Magnesium in the body.* Boron is essential for estrogen production, and may have a positive impact for menopausal women and hormones related to sex drive.* Boron is also needed for maintaining proper testosterone levels in males. Among other health benefits include increasing proper cell membrane function, preventing blood clots, alleviating the risk of congestive heart failure, lowering plasma lipid levels, reduce fungal infections, and inhibit harmful enzymes from forming or acting.

However, boron can only be obtained from foods or supplementation. Consider Eniva Boron Mineral Liquid Concentrate for body balance and wellbeing. Visit http://eniva.com/boron-mineral-liquid-concentrate-16-oz/ for more information about our product.

Sulfur For Better Health?

June 1, 2016

Sulfur for Better Health?

8.3.1

Did you know that sulfur comprises .25% of your body weight?
Did you know sulfur is found in ALL connective tissue and skin in your body?
Did you know that sulfur is considered earth’s “beauty mineral” due to its strengthening and cleansing effects on your hair and skin?
Well if you didn’t, now you have an idea of why sulfur is so important for your body:

  • Water-soluble sulfur is necessary for the healthy growth of your hair and nails.
  • Sulfur supports healthy skin. Thus the reason why so many people visit hot springs (water high in sulfur) for it’s soothing and purifying benefits for your skin and joints.
  • Sulfur aids joint movement by assisting in the normal formation of new cartilage and other connective tissues.
  • Finding yourself sensitive to house dust, pollen, wool, animal hair, and feathers? Sulfur supplementation is reported to have weakened those allergies.
  • prod_sulfur_8204__02891.1429905374.1280.1280Sulfur is a key component of several amino acids, and therefore is required for many of your body’s cellular functions and synthesis of proteins. For example: the production of insulin requires sulfur. In addition, sulfur may also support normal blood circulation and muscle function.*
  • Sulfur plays an important role in energy metabolism due to the fact that is an essential component of the vitamins biotin and thiamin.
  • Concerned about your respiratory system, lung function, and breathing? Sulfur assists with tissue breathing, the process whereby oxygen and other substances are used to build cells and release energy.
  • Lastly, sulfur is used by the liver to produce choline and support normal intestinal health. It is a mineral the body uses for urinary tract function and regularity.* Therefore, sulfur acts as an antioxidant, assisting the body’s own detoxification process to allow water and nutrients to flow freely into cells and waste products or toxins to flow out.

Convinced? You may way want to consider incorporating Eniva Health Minerals for Life Sulfur Liquid Concentrate to your diet! Visit http://eniva.com/sulfur-mineral-liquid-concentrate-32-oz/ for more information!

Healthy Eyes – Long Term Eyesight

December 18, 2015

Maintain Your Vision

Your eyes are a critical part of your health. Maintaining your vision and keeping your eyes healthy will preserve your long-term eyesight. There are many simple tips that you can do on your own to keep your eyes healthy.

Eye_0421.25958910 copy

If you haven’t done so recently, go in for a comprehensive dilated eye exam. You may believe that your eyesight is fine, but a visit to your eye doctor will share results that you may not be aware of. Common eye issues can be identified in their early stages. Additionally, know your family’s eye health history. You may be at risk for genetic eye complications before they actually appear.

What You Can Do To Improve Your Eyesight

Beyond an exam, there are small daily, lifestyle activities you can do to keep your eyes healthy. You’ve been told since you were young to eat carrots to nourish your eyes. However, there are many more super foods that have equally beneficial effects on your eyes. Having a fruit and vegetable rich diet, heavy in dark leafy greens like spinach, kale, or collard greens, along with fish high in omega-3 fatty acids, like salmon, tuna, or halibut, have been shown to support eye health. Secondly, maintain a healthy weight as this prevents your risk for diabetes, which can lead to effects like vision loss. Additionally, smoking has detrimental effects on your eyes, as it does for the rest of your body. It has been clinically proven that smoking is positively related with development of age-related macular degeneration, cataract, and optic nerve damage.

Lastly, keep your eyes safe by wearing protective eyewear when playing sports or doing dangerous activities that may put your eyes at risk. In the sun, wear sunglasses as they protect your eyes from ultraviolet rays. Lastly, treat your eyes well. If you wear contacts, make sure you’re cleaning your lenses and your hands properly before putting them back in your eyes. Additionally, if you look at a screen for longer periods of time during the day, give your eyes a rest every 20 minutes to reduce the strain on your eyes.

Are Cholesterol-lowering Drugs Hurting Your Heart?

December 7, 2015

0587.HEART-01 blueACoQ10 Levels & Your Heart

High cholesterol is a health challenge facing many Americans. Statistically, as many as 99.5 million people in America have elevated cholesterol. This condition is a major risk factor for the development and progression of far-reaching cardiovascular issues. As such, high cholesterol levels in the body can lead to arterial “plaque build-up” that can clog arteries in the body.  This may lead to health consequences such as sudden heart attack or stroke.

It is normal to have cholesterol in the body. It is a soft, waxy substance found in the bloodstream and every cell of the body. In fact, cholesterol is an important part of a healthy body because it is needed to form cell membranes, hormones, and serves other needed bodily functions. The challenge arises when cholesterol levels increases to unhealthy levels.
Many Americans who have high cholesterol or who have had a heart attack may already be on heart medications. One of the most common classes of drugs for controlling cholesterol levels is the “statin” family (an example is Lipitor®). These drugs work by decreasing the creation of new cholesterol, thus lowering overall body cholesterol levels. However, one negative side effect of these drugs rarely ever mentioned is their effect on a vital heart nutrient, Coenzyme Q10.

Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a substance involved in energy production of every cell in the body. It is chemically known as ubiquinone – a name that signifies its wide (ubiquitous) distribution in the human body. This substance is a major player that helps to create cellular energy, called ATP (adenosine triphosphate).* It can be compared to loading coal into a coal furnace. CoQ10 is like the individual who is shoveling the coal into the fire, playing a critical role in the production of energy. In addition, CoQ10 is a powerful antioxidant that protects the body from free radicals.* It helps to preserve the body’s store of vitamin E, the major antioxidant of cell membranes and blood cholesterol.*

Energy Production

CoQ10 is found in highest concentrations in the heart, brain, and liver. This follows logic since these three organs are constantly working – the heart beats 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; the brain is in constant thought (even while sleeping!); and the liver is constantly working to keep the body in balance. The fact that CoQ10 is in such high concentration in the heart is of particular importance for those concerned with cardiovascular health.

Cholesterol – Statin Use – Side Effects 0316 Final Cholesterol

If an individual has had a heart attack and is on a statin drug for lowering cholesterol, they are also lowering their body’s level of CoQ10, particularly in the heart. This is extremely detrimental since, after a heart attack or cardiovascular challenge, heart tissue can become what is called “stunned”—meaning it is not currently working, but has the potential to come “back to life.” In order for this to happen, the heart cells of the body need an adequate supply of energy for repair and growth. Since CoQ10 is critical to energy production, low levels will impair the heart cell’s ability to repair damage. Without a doubt, statin drugs decrease CoQ10 levels in the body. Although they have the beneficial effect of lowering cholesterol, they may also unknowingly be creating another cardiovascular risk factor—low CoQ10 levels in the heart.

The Solution

Fortunately, there is a very easy solution to this problem that has been well documented and is supported by numerous clinical trials.  It has been proven that generous supplementation with CoQ10 (at least 100 mg daily) can address the problem associated with statin drug use.† It is a well documented, but not commonly known fact that must be brought to the forefront due to the high number of Americans on statin drugs.
Because of its role in energy production, CoQ10 has been studied in relation to numerous heart challenges, and it has been shown to help some people with congestive heart issues.†mid couple dreams lr 35582333

Similar improvements have been reported in people with challenges affecting heart muscle. Research (including double-blind studies) in this area has been consistently positive.†

Also, due to its effect on heart muscle, researchers have studied CoQ10 in people with heart rhythm irregularities. Research in this area reported improvement after approximately one month in people with premature ventricular beats who also suffer from blood sugar issues.† People feeling the effects of constricted heart vessels taking 150 mg per day of CoQ10 report a greater ability to exercise without experiencing chest pain.† This has been confirmed in independent investigations.†

Even outside the realm of heart health, the benefits of CoQ10 are numerous, ranging from promoting a healthy neurological
system to supporting healthy sugar levels.*

Although CoQ10 is a very researched and beneficial nutrient, challenges arise with its administration in supplement form. Numerous studies have documented challenges when taking CoQ10 in just tablet or pill form made of granulated powder.† Absorption has been shown to increase when taking a fat-soluble form or emulsion type product since these mimic its natural state in the body. This fact is of particular importance due to the high cost of CoQ10 supplements. Consumers and their doctors should be aware of the differences between CoQ10 supplements for best results and best value.

We at EnivaHealth encourage you to talk with your doctor about the support CoQ10 may offer for your heart health goals. Consider a LIQUID and fat-soluble form of QoQ10 that provides a natural and high-potency solution to support the balance of CoQ10 levels in the body.*

Winter is Coming! Are You Getting Enough Vitamin D?…And the Right Kind?

November 5, 2015

Are You Getting Enough Vitamin D?

I_am_Healthy1Contrary to popular belief, research shows nearly 3 out of 4 people are deficient in Vitamin D. Unfortunately; very few foods naturally contain vitamin D. This fact, coupled with the reality that many people do not have adequate everyday access to sun exposure, leaves most children and adults with a deficit of this important nutrient. Studies have shown vitamin-D deficiency can affect normal cellular replication, proper immune responses, and resilience against infections, according to the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Other areas affected include heart function, bone and joint health, breathing, and even mood.
